Standing Committees and Advisory Groups

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee provides support to the Niagara Regional Housing Board of Directors through budget review and monitoring and approval of monthly and quarterly reports and consultation/advice on operational issues. 

The Executive Committee consists of 4 directors, who are elected by the Board.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee reviews, evaluates and awards Niagara Regional Housing public tenders and change orders within the established contract value ranges. 

The Awards Committee consists of 3 members:

  • 2 or more Niagara Regional Housing Board director
  • 1 Niagara Regional Housing Manager, Housing Operations
  • 1 Niagara Regional Housing Capital Works Manager

Appeals Committee

The Applicant/Tenant Appeals Committee reviews and makes decisions on appeals from applicants and Niagara Regional Housing tenants regarding eligibility, priority status, withdrawal of Rent-Geared-To-Income and urgent transfer status. 

The Appeals Committee consists of:

  • 1 Niagara Regional Housing director
  • 2 of the following:
    • Representative of the Provider Advisory Committee
    • Niagara Regional Housing Manager

Provider Advisory Committee (PAC)

The Provider Advisory Committee (PAC) acts as a liaison between housing providers (ie. providers of non-profit and cooperative housing) and the Niagara Regional Housing Board of Directors.  The group reviews new policies, procedures and guidelines affecting housing providers, identifies relevant issues of concern and advocates for providers. 

The Provider Advisory Committee (PAC) consists of 9 members:

  • 1 Niagara Regional Housing Board director
  • 2 members of cooperatives
  • 1 representative of Federal Non-profit agency
  • 1 representative of an aboriginal agency
  • 1 member of a supportive agency
  • 3 memberships from any of the above categories

Tenant Advisory Committee (TAC)

The Tenant Advisory Committee (TAC) acts as a link between tenants and Niagara Regional Housing. Tenant Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings are held in communities across Niagara and form an open dialogue between tenants and Niagara Regional Housing on policies, procedures, guidelines and service needs. 

The Tenant Advisory Committee (TAC) consists of:

  • 1 Niagara Regional Housing Board director
  • 11 tenants
  • Niagara Regional Housing staff
