New Community Director Appointed to Niagara Regional Housing (NRH) Board
NIAGARA REGION, June 25, 2018 – The Niagara Regional Housing (NRH) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the approval of their newest Community Director, Betty Lou Souter, who is filling a vacancy on the board effective June 15. Souter is the Chief Executive Officer of Community Care, St. Catharines & Thorold and has more than 40 years of experience in the voluntary sector.
"We are excited to welcome Betty Lou Souter to NRH’s Board," said Board Chair Henry D'Angela. "Her extensive volunteer involvement has enabled her to develop a large network in all sectors and gain an understanding of the issues that affect Niagara communities. Her perspective will be a great asset for NRH as we continue to do everything we can to meet the housing needs of our region."
Souter has also served on community task forces that focus on improving the lives of those who struggle to make ends meet and she advocates for a healthy and vibrant community for everyone. "I am looking forward to working with NRH to explore innovative and creative ways to address the issue of housing security in Niagara," said Souter.
This appointment completes the Board, which is comprised of five Regional Councillors and four Community Directors
