Niagara Regional Housing (NRH) Board Announces New Chief Executive Officer

NIAGARA REGION, February 21, 2017 - The Niagara Regional Housing Board has appointed Dan Troke as the new Chief Executive Officer of Niagara Regional Housing (NRH). Troke will assume his new responsibilities March 6, 2017.

Troke has over 20 years of experience working in senior roles with extensive knowledge in Housing and Finance. For the last decade he has led major housing initiatives at a provincial level. “I am very excited to work with a community which is committed to providing affordable housing. The NRH team and its partners have worked hard to provide housing options and we will build upon that work for the people who call NRH their home”.

NRH Board Chair Henry D’Angela welcomed the new CEO stating, “The demand for Social Housing has steadily increased since NRH began administering Social Housing on behalf of the Niagara Region in 2002. Our programs now range from traditional Public Housing (NRH-owned), Non-Profits, Co-operatives, Rent Supplements, temporary Housing Allowances and assistance with homeownership and renovations. In this fast-paced environment, the Board recognized the need for a CEO with demonstrated strategic and leadership skills to guide NRH forward. Troke was selected for his housing sector experience, his vision for delivering public value in housing services and for his proven leadership in government processes. We look forward to adding his leadership strength and expertise to the NRH team to meet goals and objectives of Niagara Regional Housing.”

Board Chair D’Angela and the five members of the Search Committee participated in the search process with support from Organization Consulting Limited and received over 70 applications from candidates across Canada.
