Volunteer for the Board of Directors

Niagara Regional Housing is looking for volunteers from our social housing provider sector to temporarily serve on a Board of Directors who are experiencing financial or operational difficulties.

Volunteers who are appointed will serve on a specific board of directors for a possible 2-year term to help resolve the social housing provider's difficulties.

Volunteers will receive a honorarium for the monthly meetings they attend.

Expectations and Qualifications

Volunteers are expected to attend monthly board meetings, participate in discussions, and may be requested to participate on board sub-committees to move forward with overall stabilization plans.

Volunteers are expected to have:

  • Knowledge or experience in social housing management, community-based programs or housing development
  • Board experience
  • Volunteer experience
